I discovered that Type Texture is important, and some work best with Global, others won't work with Global and need to be set to World or UI and in the case of Taxi2Gate there just isn't a workable solution. However, I am absolutely unable to get Fly Tampa or Taxi2Gate sceneries to work using the add-on.xml method. The FSDT/Flightbeam addons work fine and they provided my initial go-by along with my second computer screen opened to the SDK and various forums. Sure, I am retired and have the time but it has become clear that this scheme has problems. I have spent the past three days doing nothing but trying to get the add-on.xml method of adding scenery to work.
